Transcending "make-believe responsibilities" with ACIM Miracles – A Course in Miracles

Beloved Child of God,

A Course in Miracles – Jesus once said "I am calling you out of the world." As the journey with ACIM Miracles deepens, many seeming stages are passed through. The shift of mind which has been called Atonement could be equated with seeing that there is only one responsibility. This is approached by unveiling and exposing the false self-concept which was made as a substitute for the Divine Love God creates forever. All worldly "responsibilities" are based in lack and arise from self-concepts based in lack.

Changing actions without releasing false self-concepts would accomplish nothing, for to stop working without releasing the belief in lack would be attempting to renounce the world while still believing in it. Yet the self-concept does undergo changes as the mind opens to the Holy Instant. With each shift the mind feels increasingly lighter and expansive, for the burdens of the belief in lack and guilt loosen significantly with each shift in self-concept.

First comes a symbolic function as a "teacher of God." This is the expression Jesus uses in the Manual for Teachers of A Course in Miracles. And as the trust in God and "take no thought" strengthens, what seems to be "needs" are met in miraclulous and shall I say unconventional ways. These are important witnesses for they are completely unlike anything that has "come before" and give the aspirant a real taste of Divine Providence.

As the journey with ACIM Miracles proceeds, even these experiences seem more and more natural as the ideas of "reciprocity" and "payment for services rendered" fade from awareness. It was the false association with the body that made the "work to survive" principle seem so very important, yet as this association weakens one's perception of the world undergoes radical changes. Simplicity of thought yields an awakening mind that need not participate in the wheels of the world, for increasingly it is seen that there is no need to engage in illusions.

With a passion for Awakening and a deepening devotion and faith, the seeming tasks will feel more and more overtly Spirit directed. And in the leap into Mysticism the Call into the Silence will take hold of the willing mind. This is the taste of True Productivity.

Let thy work be inspired, and in Joy the concept of work shall be shown anew and then dissolve forever. Truly it does not help to wish to be relieved of responsibilities believed real. Yet sincerely questioning the self-concepts from which these erroneous responsibilities arise includes the willingness to open to the sole responsibility (acceptance of the Atonement). The final discernment is accepting the real in place of the unreal.

Love & Blessings,
David Hoffmeister – A Course in Miracles
